Parenting plans · Family court preparation
You don't need a better argument. You need a better document.
Most custody cases are decided on paper, not at trial. The Dads Standard gives you the exact language to put in a parenting plan, the law in your own state, and the numbers to back it up — so the plan you sign protects the time you actually get.
Built by a father, for fathers. The parenting plan my children and I needed, I had to develop and write myself. Everything here came out of that.

Who built this
I built the document I wish someone had handed me.
I’m not a lawyer and this isn’t a law firm. I’m a father who went through a Florida dissolution, a move to Texas, and eight years of motions, rulings and modifications — and who learned, far later than I should have, that almost everything that could go wrong went wrong on paper first.
So I rewrote it. Clause by clause, over years, until the plan governing my daughters closed every gap the first one left open. Everything on this site came out of that.

My example — the case that started this
What one night is actually worth.
Florida, three children, and the question nobody could answer for me in plain numbers. The whole calculation lives on the child support calculator page — the slider, the threshold where your time stops counting at all, and what the difference comes to over one, ten and fifteen years. Directly beneath it is the same calculator, ready for your state and your own figures.
LET’S START HERE! Seven places to start — take them in order, or go straight to the one that matches where your case actually is.
What’s in here
Most of what you're afraid of losing hasn't happened yet.
Birthdays. Seasons. The drive to practice, where they tell you things they would never say across a table. The year the one-word answers stop. Almost all of it is still ahead of you — and every one of those days runs through a document you may have signed in a week when you were exhausted, outspent, and wanted it to be over.
That is not a threat. It's leverage. The paperwork is the one part of this you can still change — and unlike the hearing, the argument, or the other household, it doesn't require anyone's permission or good behavior. It requires knowing what to ask for.
That's all this company is. Not a place to be angry. A place to get educated, confident, and quickly address the specific items that decide up to the next eighteen years.

Free · no account, no card
Find out what your court order is missing.
Your final judgment, your parenting plan, your possession order — whatever the judge actually signed, and whatever your state calls it. Twelve questions, answered with that document in front of you. It takes about five minutes, and you get a plain list of what is missing from it and what is there but unclear. Both matter, and they are not the same problem.
No card, no call, no obligation — and you’ll know more about your own order in five minutes than you did signing it.
Results for the first six are free. For the other six we ask for your name and email, which we use to send you your results and occasional updates — your answers go with it, so the email can show you what you answered. This tells you what your document does and does not say — it does not tell you what to do about it, which is your lawyer’s job and not ours.

Your state's checklist
Want your state’s checklist too?
Leave your email here and we’ll send the checklist for wherever your case lives — the statute, the schedule, and what your state requires a parenting plan to contain.
